Exceptional Japanese Showa period four-panel byobu screen depicting eight white Manchurian cranes feeding along a meandering stream. The screen features vibrant ink and color natural pigments over a dramatic radiant gilt background. Intricate brushwork signed by artist Shoko on the bottom left side with a seal. The screen is in very good, well preserved condition. The artwork is set in a black lacquered ebonized wood frame with a silk brocade border. Beautifully crafted with strong joinery.
