A charming English country folk art painted pine trunk or blanket chest, hand-decorated with a weathered architectural façade resembling a grand English Georgian country manor on the front and side panels. The rectangular pine chest features a lift-top lid and heavy patinated iron handles on each side. The piece sits atop a molded plinth base with shaped bracket feet, decorated with corner brick accents. The manor's stately front features a meticulously decorated portico with neoclassical Ionic columns, a central pediment, red double doors, rows of windows with painted curtains, and potted topiaries, all rendered in a trompe l’œil fashion. The sides are decorated with two-story façades with doorways, stairs, and windows. The palette of the painted exterior includes shades of dark brown, burgundy, cream, ochre, forest green, and gray. The painted finish has a desirable weathered distressed patina as seen in photos. The chest opens to reveal a clean natural pine interior with visible plank construction with a lidded till fitted with two small drawers. Crafted in a rustic English Provincial Georgian Country style, the charming piece is versatile as a blanket chest, pine storage box, side table, coffee table, or decorative accent.
