A dramatic custom mid-century settee crafted in an Art Deco style featuring a striking Greek key velvet upholstery with woven raffia grasscloth panels at each end. The settee is raised on tapered and reeded carved wood legs supporting an elegant hardwood frame and ending with ball feet. The frame is crafted with rolled arms, a low-slung back, and deep seat. The side panels are upholstered in natural woven grasscloth, accented by Greek key patterned rows of patinated brass tack nailheads. The arms, back, and fitted loose seat cushions are finished in a bold emerald green and ivory fabric woven in an interlocking Greek key fretwork pattern. The frame is sturdy with solid joinery in exceptional condition. given age and use. The fabric while being vintage shows exceptionally well and is very presentable with vibrant deep color and beautifully woven grasscloth panels. The bespoke upholstery displays amazing craftsmanship and detail. The unique settee pairs warm upholstery, and woven grasscloth together, blending Art Deco and Hollywood Regency styles, well-suited for a variety of interiors as a settee, sofa, or loveseat.
