Stylish and rare pair of large lounge chairs or club chairs with matching ottoman designed in the California coastal organic modern style by Barbara Barry for McGuire. The chairs feature a gracefully curved rattan frame with tightly woven mesh cane inset and Barry's signature oval cut out on the back. The set includes two chairs, one ottoman and two throw pillows. The frames feature a dramatic dark tobacco finish. The generous seats and ottoman are upholstered with a subtly striped fabric with an ecru background. The chairs are sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The rattan is lashed together on the legs with leather rawhide laces. The chairs have a crisp, modern design in very good well preserved condition. Each piece has the original McGuire plaque on bottom. Sold as a set of three.
