An handsome and authentic late 20th century rattan, brass, and glass coffee or cocktail table made in the California coastal Organic Modern style by McGuire Furniture, San Francisco. The table features a sculptural lattice rattan base topped by a substantial square thick beveled glass top. The base is constructed from richly toned dark tobacco-colored rattan poles lashed together with McGuire's signature leather rawhide strapping in a intricate geometric grid pattern. Each rattan upright is finished with an optional patinated brass trefoil clover shaped cap, functioning as a spacer or support for the glass. The contrast of the crisp, square glass and the dark, intricate rattan framework creates a distinctive profile with Organic Modern, Palm Beach Regency, and California Coastal stylistic influences, suitable for a number of interiors. The table includes a McGuire maker's plaque on the bottom. The base measures 32" wide and deep and 16.75" tall.
