Exceptional country French provincial aesthetic farmhouse dining table or monastery table crafted on a grand scale measuring over 9 feet long. The table is constructed from thick oak timbers featuring a massive 3 inch thick top with bread board ends. The table was made with mostly wood peg construction having gently rounded edges throughout. The large oak planks showcase the radiant woodgrain patterns. The top is supported by a trestle base with baluster form legs. The legs are conjoined by a long stretcher having exposed mortise and tenon joinery ending with wide shoe feet. Crafted on a large scale the table is heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The top and profile of the table is surprisingly flat and true without any excess warp or shrinkage common to this size.
