Pair of Southeast Asian Bronze Rain Drums or Drinks Tables
$9,500.00
A rare matching pair of cast bronze metal rain drum or frog drum side drink tables from Southeast Asia. Each large rain drum features a broad circular top decorated with concentric rings and a central starburst medallion. The top sits above a waisted, bell-form body articulated with horizontal registers of incised geometric banding. The silhouette is completed by sculptural ring handles and small stacked frog sets around the rim. Typically from east Burma or Myanmar and made by the tribes of the Karen people. The drum has loop side handles for hanging. The bronze has an attractive aged oxidized verdigris patina. Functionally versatile, usable as side tables, stools, pedestals, or accent pieces. Sold as a pair. From an estate in Napa, CA.
