Gorgeous 19th century Irish wake table or dining table made in the Georgian taste. Crafted from thick, radiant mahogany the table measures 17.5 inches deep with the drop leaves closed and 64 inches deep with both gate leg supported leaves open. The top of the oval table is 0.75 inches thick and showcases the radiant mahogany woodgrains with a bull nose edge. The table is supported by square legs with reeded outsides and a chamfered inside edge. The table is very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Provenance: From the estate of Meri Jaye (1920-2023) Nob Hill San Francisco, CA. Jaye was a renowned interior designer of passenger ships and cargo liners.
