Set of Ten Sally Sirkin for J. Robert Scott Tuscany Dining Chairs

A grand late 20th century set of ten "Tuscany" hardwood dining chairs designed by Sally Sirkin Lewis for J. Robert Scott, Los Angeles, CA. The set is comprised of eight side chairs and two host armchairs, each featuring dramatic Neoclassical Klismos style silhouettes. The chairs are crafted with a subtle glossy ebonized and lacquered hardwood frame. The chairs are supported by sabered klismos legs, and a scalloped seat apron. The armchairs feature sculptural, stepped open arms with a strong architectural profile. The square back and seat panels are upholstered in a subtle two-tone champagne chenille velvet, woven with a tactile striped wave pattern. The chairs are sturdy and solid having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The frames have their original soft vintage upholstery. The fabric while being vintage still shows well and is very presentable with minor signs of fading and light wear as seen in photos. Crafted in a blend of Neoclassical and Directoire styles having a Greco-Roman Klismos inspired form, the set is well-suited for a variety of interiors. Measurements listed are for side chairs. Original J. Robert Scott manufacturer's order tags and labels are located on the underside of the chairs. Armchairs measure 24" wide, 25" deep, 37.5" tall, and have arms measuring 25.5". Sold as a set of ten.
