Set of Six Louis XVI Style Painted Dining Chairs Green Leather
$8,800.00
A handsome set of six French painted dining chairs crafted in the grand Louis XVI taste. The chairs are hand-crafted from beech wood and feature stately tall square backs with molded rails. The seats feature carved rosette corner blocks and lead down to tapered and fluted legs with turned collar rings ending in small toupie feet. Each chair has a painted finish with an intentionally distressed antiqued patina. The frames are upholstered in the original opulent deep green leather with a gold embossed scroll decorative border framing the seats in a square shape. The cushions and seat backs are outlined by decorative patinated brass tack nailhead trim. The chairs feature classical Louis-XVI motifs such as rosette corner blocks and fluted legs having Neoclassical influence, while the color palette and nailhead trim give the chairs a tailored edge. The set has a desirable aged patina full of character and charm. The aged leather with gilt has an opulent, well-heeled look. The frames are sturdy with strong joinery. Sold as a set of six.
