Gorgeous set of four Chinese country provincial qing style dining chairs crafted from hardwood probably elm. The frames have a square shaped spindle back that scrolls or arches at the top crest. The seat features a raffia or grasscloth lacquered inset topped with a fabric seat cushion decorated with Chinese script symbols. Sturdy and strong constructed with mortise and tenon joinery. The chairs have a handsome profile and warm patina in a dark honey tone that showcases the radiant woodgrains. From an estate in San Francisco, CA. Sold as a set of four.
