19th Century Set of Six Directoire Style Mahogany Dining Chairs

Opulent set of six mahogany French dining chairs made in the transitional directoire pre-Empire taste. The chairs feature gracefully curved backs decorated with bronze toned ormolu ribbon swag on the crests and patinated brass tack nail head borders. The round seat is supported by fluted column style legs with bronze rosettes in the Empire taste. The legs have curved stretchers and end with brass casters on five of the six chairs. Beautifully crafted with a handsome French profile and neoclassical Napoleonic style motifs. Sold as a set of six.
