Japanese Edo Two-Panel Screen Flowers of Autumn

Impressive early 19th century Japanese Edo period two-panel screen featuring flowering plants and grasses of autumn. Painted in the Tosa School style Bunka Bunsei period or Ogosho period (1804-1829) signed Juroki-i-jo (upper junior sixth rank) Mansanori Saida with seal. Beautiful ink and color moriage pigments on paper with gold flecks. Appears to have been associated with a family of Confucian scholars in Kyoto. Set in a dark red lacquered frame with a gold silk border. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
