Pair of Country French Provincial Wingback Bergère Armchairs
$2,800.00
A charming pair of tall wingback bergère armchairs in the Country French Provincial Louis XV style. The large beech wood frames have an intentionally weathered, pickled lacquer finish to mimic age. The chairs are upholstered in a luxurious butter-yellow jacquard damask with ivory-colored scrolling acanthus accents. Each chair's construction features a tall, sheltering wingback profile with a softly arched camelback crest. The wood frame has thick exposed sheperd's crook looped arms, and a shaped front apron. The seat is supported by cabriole scrolled legs with carved knees and hoof-like feet. The wood frames are finished in an intentionally distressed and timeworn painted, pickled surface in cream lacquer tones, giving the pieces a rustic French Country look. The chairs are finished with welted upholstery details and a brass tack nailhead trim accents. Equally suited for a range of spaces, from refined traditional interiors to more rustic French Country spaces. The chair frames are sturdy and solid having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The vintage upholstery shows well, and is still presentable with signs of wear commensurate age and use as seen in photos.
