Pair of British Colonial Style Carved Caned Plantation Chairs


Amazing pair of hand-carved plantation chairs crafted in the British colonial taste. The chairs feature large frames decorated with reeded, scrolled seats having delicate acanthus details. The large padded, scrolled arms measure 23 inches high upholstered with a natural linen fabric. The seats have a generous seating area covered with double woven cane sheets that are tight and intact. The seats are supported by curule legs conjoined by turned stretchers. The matching set strong and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Handsome profile from an estate in the Napa Valley, CA. Sold as a pair.

Condition: Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Good condition with minor chips, scuffs, and losses which are difficult to see. Chairs have an intentionally aged, distressed patina on the finish as seen in photos. Cane is tight and strong.
