Zuber and Cie Wallpaper Panels American Independence Screen


Three wallpaper panels by Zuber and Cie from the American war of independence mounted to a four-panel screen. Three sections from the panoramic scenery depict Boston harbor with George Washington on horseback. The paper is still being printed today from woodblocks carved in 1852. The scene is bordered by patriotic stars and stripes banner motifs. This screen is two-sided and features a heavily distressed painting of a lush forest landscape. Intentionally aged, worn, and distressed with a beautiful patina. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with age appropriate wear. Minor losses on edges as seen in photos. Reverse side is intentionally worn with a heavily distressed patina.
