Iconic bentwood beech Kleinderstander or coat rack with umbrella stand made in the Vienna Secession style by Thonet. The stand features five S shaped arms on top for coats and hats surmounted by a beehive formed finial. The top swivels and is supported by a thick column with four gracefully curved legs. The legs support an umbrella stand with a ring shaped stretcher. The bottom ring features a patinated brass drip tray. The beech has a rich finish with a desirable aged patina and fading on some areas to commensurate its age and use. Good solid joinery and construction with original hardware.
