The hourglass-form body is decorated with horizontal incised bands, geometric registers, applied bosses, looping side handles, and raised ornaments in relief. The sides are decorated with a line of elephants on one side and jumping fish on the other side. The surface displays a beautifully aged patina with mottled dark brown, copper red, terracotta, and green verdigris tones. The drum is very heavy with solid construction on a monumental scale.
