Handsome and rare Shan style Southeast Asian patinated cast bronze rain drum or frog drum that could serve as a side or drink table. The bronze drum has a waisted form and is typically from east Burma or Myanmar made by the tribes of the Karen people. The drum has loop handles on each side for hanging. The top and sides are decorated with concentric circles and the top is centered by a sunburst or star motif. The flat, round top has four stacks of frogs on top of each other. Very heavy and large with a rich patinated finish on the bronze.

Condition: Distressed, wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Beautifully crafted with strong, solid construction. Age appropriate wear with a patinated, weathered, and distressed patina with verdigris. Hole on one side and loss near bottom as seen in photos.
