Southeast Asian Bronze Rain Drum or Drinks Table


Patinated Southeast Asian bronze rain drum or frog drum that would make a wonderful drinks table. The tall, narrow bronze drum has a tapered, waisted form and is typically from East Burma or Myanmar. Made by the tribes of the Karen people and used to summon rain. The drum has handles on each side for hanging. The top and sides are decorated with concentric circles having geometric shapes. The top of the drum is centered by a sunburst or star motif. The drum is heavy and has a rich patinated bronze finish with applied verdigris patina.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with a distressed aged patina and applied verdigris patina as seen in photos.
