Set of Twelve English Georgian Style Mahogany Dining Chairs

$8,800.00

Grand set of twelve late 19th/early 20th century fine English dining chairs crafted from mahogany. The chairs have been refurbished and reupholstered with a new modern fabric. Constructed in the George III or Thomas Chippendale taste with finely carved mahogany frames. The seat backs are decorated with a gothic style splat having acanthus on the corners and center finial. The set consists of ten side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 29.5 inches wide and 39 inches high. The armchairs have serpentine molded arms measuring 26 inches high. The frames have generous wide seats with thick cushions and new modern fabric in an abstract geometric pattern. The plush fabric has a light teal green over a cream-colored ground and updates the chairs brilliantly. The chairs are solid and sturdy with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The mahogany has desirable aged, faded patina on the finish. The seats are supported cabriole legs in the front ending with ball and claw feet. Sold as a set of twelve. From a grand mansion in the Napa Valley, CA.
