Set of Ten Maison Jansen Louis XVI Style Lacquered Dining Chairs


Dramatic set of ten black lacquered dining chairs made in the grand French Louis XVI taste. Attributed to Maison Jansen from the estate of Roger Prigent Malmaison, New York. Upholstered with a pistachio green fabric having gilt specks. The frames have a square back that contrasts the curved seat nicely. Supported by fluted and tapered French legs ending with toupie feet. The black lacquer has a semi-gloss finish and the chairs have a striking profile.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with age appropriate wear. Minor wear on frames and upholstery as seen in photos.
