Set of Ten French Louis XVI Style Painted Dining Chairs

Dramatic set of ten lacquer painted red leather dining chairs made in the grand French Louis XVI taste. The chairs feature a molded parcel gilt frame with an oval shaped seat back finished in a light grey cream lacquer with an intentionally aged patina. The frames are upholstered in a European style lipstick red leather with brass tack nail head borders. The set consists of eight side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 22.5 inches wide. The generous seats are bowed in front and decorated with carved rosettes on the corners. Supported by elegant tapered, fluted legs ending with toupie feet. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a classic continental profile and color combination. Made in the style and manner of Maisen Jansen with a lovely aged patina.
