Set of Six Jean of Topanga California Carved Barstools


Rare set of six carved bar height stools handcrafted by Jean of Topanga California. The stools feature a carved saddle style seat supported by elegant, long legs ending with hoof style feet. The legs are conjoined by a brass toned ring stretcher that serves as a footrest. Each chair is signed and stamped on bottom. The seats measure: 15.5 inches wide by 10.5 inches deep. Jean Stehelin moved to Topanga in 1964 where he opened a woodworking shop on Fernwood drive. From an estate in Malibu, CA.

Condition: Fair, minor wear consistent with age and use. Good joinery with an aged patina and old repairs as seen in photos. Age appropriate wear and fading.
