Set of Four English Regency Mahogany Dining Chairs


19th century set of English Regency dining chairs or library chairs crafted from mahogany. The set consists of two side chairs and two armchairs measuring 23 inches wide and 23 inches deep. The chairs have a klismos style tablet backrest with gracefully curved arms ending with large scrolls on the armchairs. The seats have black leather upholstery bordered by brass tack nail heads. The square seat is supported by turned legs ending with a peg foot. Classical examples of regency period chairs showcasing the radiant woodgrains. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
