Rustic 19th Century Country French Provincial Fruitwood Writing Table

$7,000.00

Charming and rustic late 18th century country French provincial writing table or desk hand-crafted from fruitwood. Made in the South of France this table features a whimsical style full of character with an uneven top and heavily distressed patina. The table has been restored and refinished but still retains the rustic Je ne sais quoi patina. Crafted with wood peg joinery the table is strong and stable. The desk is fronted by a single drawer that is felt lined and has an iron pull. The top is slightly canted and rises in the back 1 inch higher than the front. The finish has losses and prior insect damage that has been retained to keep the original country aesthetic. Beautifully restored with a classic French profile. From an estate in Malibu, CA.
