Renzo Rutilli Asian Lacquered Gold Leaf Sideboard Cabinet Credenza


Rare Mid-Century Modern monumental 3 part sideboard cabinet or credenza designed by Renzo Rutilli (Lorenzo R. Rutilli 1901-1966) for Johnson Furniture Company. The cabinet features a three section case each with double doors opening to storage areas. The cabinets are mounted on a long floating Asian style stand with short legs ending with brass clad feet. The case has a black lacquer or Japanned finish with gold leaf square decorated doors and patinated brass pulls. The gold leaf is painted with subtle Asian motifs of idyllic landscapes. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with original lacquer finish having an aged patina. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
