Pair of Salvatore Leone for Thonet Bentwood Cane Armchairs


Fantastic pair of early bentwood and cane armchairs or bistro chairs made by Salvatore Leone for Thonet in Modena, Italy. Rare pair of armchairs featuring a transitional style with a turned wood back support and iconic Thonet "Cafe Daum" style scrolled arms. Each chair is signed and stamped with excellent joinery and craftsmanship from what appears to be an older professional restoration. The cane inset on the back and seat are tight and intact. Finished in a rich dark stain. The arms measure 26.5 high. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
