The corner blocks are accented by a protruding end of the wood joinery, creating a small carved medallion accent. The seats are hand-woven in an open lattice basketweave of hand-twisted rope, looped and lashed around the apron rails. The rope is thick and tactile, contrasting the smooth carved and turned wood. The classical pair is crafted in a mid-century neoclassical style after similar pieces made by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Saridis of Athens. The walnut frames are sturdy having solid joinery and craftsmanship. The rope has a desirable aged patina as seen in photos.
