Pair of Qing Style Porcelain Panels Orange Monkey and Horse


Exceptional pair of handcrafted enameled porcelain plates made in the Qinglong period style. Each panel depicts a brown and white horse with an orange monkey in the tree above. The scenes are reversed and finished in a dramatic gilt over a Chinese red ground. Each plate is set in a thick hardwood frame weighing nearly 20 pounds with a patinated brass metal hanger. Rare and unique with fantastic color. Both pieces have seals and signatures. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
