Monumental Japanned Dressers or Chests of Drawers

Impressive bespoke monumental dressers or chests of drawers that could also serve as sideboards or credenzas. The chests feature a chinosierie style Japanned case decorated with idyllic Asian motif scenes in a parcel gilt moriage (raised pigment) lacquered finish. The lacquer has a beautifully distressed craquelure quality to give the impression of age and character to the patina. Each cabinet has 3 drawers running along the top that blend in to the reeded band around the frieze. Below are 6 large storage drawers with round brass pulls. Supported by 8 legs with the front splayed to accent the curved shape of the case above. Originally from a palatial estate in Beverly Park, California. Owned by the Saudi Royal family. Price is for each.
