Pair of Louis XVI Style Mahogany Nightstands with Leather Tops

Distinctive pair of French mahogany nightstands or end tables featuring embossed, tooled leather tops. Made in the Louis XVI taste with a subtle design free from inlay and bronze mounts. The cases have a large storage drawer with double patinated brass pulls to mimic a two drawer style. The corners have fluted column pilasters that extend down to the elegant tapered legs. Attractive profile with a rich finish on the leather. The leather has a lovely fine craquelure patina. The color is marbled and accented by a gilt border. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a dark finish. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
