Pair of French Louis XVI Style Painted Round Bergere Armchairs

Whimsical pair of painted French Bergere armchairs made in the grand Louis XVI taste. The armchairs feature a barrel back form with a molded frame having neoclassical laurel swag decoration on the seat apron. The gracefully curved back ends with scrolled arms. The generous seat has a fitted loose seat cushion and the chairs are upholstered with a textured fabric in a colorful tangerine hue. The round seat has an exposed back and is supported by tapered and fluted legs. Delightful and charming with good joinery and craftsmanship.
