Opulent pair of French carved walnut fauteuil armchairs crafted in the Louis XVI taste. The chairs feature a gracefully arched crest and square back with padded arms. The generous seats have a deep fitted, loose seat cushion in a plush textured fabric. The upholstery has a subtle foliate pattern and while being vintage fabric it shows very well and is still presentable. The seats are supported by fluted, tapered legs ending with toupie feet. The arms measure 25.5 inches high. Sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The front of the seat is slightly bowed, decorated with carved rosettes on the corners.

Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with strong, solid joinery and construction. Walnut frames have an intentionally aged finish to mimic age. Age appropriate wear with small chips, scuffs, and holes on finish. Fabric is slightly faded but good condition.
