Pair of Ethiopian Coptic Crosses Mounted on Wooden Staffs


Large pair of Coptic crosses mounted on carrying staffs for processions or display on altars. One slightly larger, they feature intricate pierce work and casting. Ethiopian crosses are renowned for their beauty and wax method of casting on available metal into spectacular designs. Larger cross has loops to affix colored banners for processions. The open lattice work is symbolic of everlasting life.

Condition: Good; minor wear consistent with age and use. Large cross has loss on one side.
