Pair of Chinese Export Lacquer Faded Coromandel Screens

Pair of gorgeous faded red lacquer Chinese export four-panel coromandel screens. The screens depict a walled pagoda pavilion with figures engaged in leisurely activities amid lush trees. The panels feature incised lacquer having faded from dark red to Sienna with a craquelure finish. Panels are supported by straight legs with patinated brass clad feet. The reverse side features a stark landscape with birds and bamboo. Each screen is evenly faded and worn with a desirable patina. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
