Fantastic pair of Chinese temple courtyard door panels carved in high relief and featuring a faded lacquer finish with painted celestial figures. The door panels have two cut-outs on the outside upper corners and the style of carving gives the sense of magical mountains and clouds where heaven and earth join. Measures: Each massive panel is 31" inches wide and nearly 4" thick. Provenance: Purchased from the iconic "Lion's Pub" in Pacific Heights, San Francisco, CA.
