Grand pair of bespoke upholstered wingback armchairs custom made by Bernhardt. The hardwood frames feature gracefully curved, large wings and arms bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads. The generous seat has a fitted loose seat cushion that is deep and comfortable. The frame is upholstered with a linen style shimmery fabric having a Fortuny style print. The chairs have a handsome profile and grand scale with a skirted apron. Strong and sturdy with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Original order labels under the seats. Sold as a pair. From an estate in Napa, CA. Very good condition as seen in photos.
