Pair of 19th Century French Provincial Painted Doors by Ira Yeager


Fantastic pair of 19th century country French provincial doors featuring double-sided portrait paintings by artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022). Very heavy, solid doors with decorative raised panels conjoined with hinges. Each door has a period style painting of French couples in his whimsical style. The doors can be displayed as a screen viewed on both sides. The four paintings are oil on wood with names and fictional 18th century dates on each. One side of the screen displays portraits of a couple in colorful dress with smiles. The opposite side features portraits of a couple wearing blue with somber faces. Provenance: From the Yager Studio Calistoga, CA.

Condition: Distressed, minor wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with an aged distressed patina on the finish. Age appropriate wear and fading as seen in photos.
