Pair of 19th Century Bamboo Fancy Armchairs


Delightful pair of 19th century carved armchairs known as ball-back bamboo fancy chairs. Attributed to David Alling of Newark, NJ. These rare chairs were made from 1815-1820 fashioned after the "organ spindle chair". These Windsor style chairs feature a rush seat with a moulded frame around the outside. Ebonized finish with a beautiful distressed vintage patina.

Dimensions: 20"w 18"d x 35"h

Condition: Distressed, minor wear consistent with age and use. Rich distressed finish with old repairs
