Early 19th century French empire Recamier, chaise longue, or daybed featuring carved swan neck ends. Crafted from rich fruitwood with neoclassical motifs of rosettes and acanthus. The lounge is fully upholstered on the front and back of the supports. The seat has a fitted loose seat cushion that is deep and comfortable accompanied by a pillow and a bolster. The fabric has a beautiful luster and a subtle reptilian animal print design. Supported by round tapered legs in the neoclassical taste. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
