Midcentury Jean-Michel Frank Style Parchment Daybed

$5,800.00

Bespoke mid-century modern daybed or chaise lounge featuring a goat skin parchment veneer in the manner and style of Jean-Michel Frank. The wood frame has gracefully curved ends and is embellished with large squares of parchment with a natural aged patina on the finish. Designed by Anthony Hail (American 1924-2006) for the De Guigne mansion in Hillsborough, CA that was once owned by Elon Musk in 2017. Sturdy and solid with good joinery the daybed has a newly upholstered cushion measuring 15.5 inches from the floor. The iconic design and dramatic profile is also reminiscent of Jules Leleu and Andre Arbus. The parchment has a desirable aged patina with minor losses as seen in photos. The frame measures 8.5 inches high without seat cushion. Seat cushion cover is removable for laundering.
