Stunning midcentury Chinese export six-panel lacquered Coromandel screen featuring a pavilion landscape with beauties. Beautifully crafted with incised lacquer painted with surreal colors that stand out boldly against the smooth black lacquer. The bottom of each panel is decorated with mythical beasts and has shaped legs ending with painted brass feet. The back is decorated with a floral landscape centered by a large bird and several smaller birds. The screen has very fine detail and finishes. From an estate in Los Angeles, CA.
