Captivating oil on masonite painting titled "Les Baux de Provence" by famous California artist Darwin Musselman (California 1916-2001) who was prominent in the art world for his mid-century abstract paintings which helped define the "California style". In 1960 Musselman traveled to France where he was influenced by the richly varied landscapes. Signed lower right. Signed, titled, and annotated verso upper corner. Mounted with a linen border and framed in a rich wood. This painting showcases the use of thick oil painted surface with a deep texture.
