Classic mid-century modern rattan bamboo armchair made in the California coastal organic modern style by McGuire. The chair features a thick pole-rattan frame with a gracefully curved barrel back form. The sides have an open fretwork of stretchers lashed together with cream colored leather rawhide laces. The seat is fitted with deep, loose seat cushions in a neutral cream or beige tone. The arms measure 23.5 inches high with leather caps on the terminals. Bespoke chair having a pearl McGuire "M" on the back of the seat. The chair is sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship.. The rattan has a subtle lightly cerused or glazed finish to mimic age. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
