Set of Six McGuire Cracked Ice Rattan Lacquered Dining Chairs

Dramatic set of six black lacquered rattan dining chairs by McGuire. The chairs were designed by Elinor McGuire in 1968 and feature the iconic cracked ice or shattered glass round back crafted from rattan pieces lashed together with rawhide leather laces. The generous seat has a fitted loose seat cushion with newer fabric and wide arms on each side. The chairs have been re-lacquered in an ebonized finish. The legs have decorative Asian style spandrels in the front and are conjoined by stretchers.
