Gorgeous Japanese two-panel Showa period screen depicting two roosters perched on a fence amid spring blossoms and pine. Beautifully illustrated flowering hydrangea, lily, fruiting gourd vines, and a pine tree. Made in the Nihonga school style ink and color over gold leaf squares. Artist seal on bottom right with poetic inscription. Set in a lacquered black frame with a new updated linen backing. From an estate in Santa Barbara, CA.
