Enchanting Japanese six-panel Showa period screen from the court narrative tales of Genji. The colorful screen is centered by deep blue waters over a dramatic faded silver-leaf background with the characters in two boats. Ink and color pigments over silver leaf squares set in a lacquered wood frame with a silk brocade border. hand painted in Kyoto, Japan. Signed with a small artist seal on the right side. Made in the Nihonga school style.
