Japanese Six Panel Meiji Screen Chrysanthemums and Waterfall

Impressive Japanese six panel Meiji period screen featuring chrysanthemums with a waterfall landscape behind. Late 19th century work with some Kano School influence. The white flowers are painted with a moriage technique (raised pigment). Ink and vivid color pigments applied to paper with a gold leaf band of squares across the top, probably added at a later date. Set in an ebonized wood frame with a green silk border. Beautifully crafted from an estate in Beverly Hills, CA.
