Stunning Japanese late Showa period Nihonga School six-panel byobu screen featuring a spring flowering cherry tree with white blossoms. The screen is signed Shugetsu and sealed by Raku by artist with a cyclical date. Dramatic background of gilt gold leaf squares with one repair on front. Vibrant ink and color pigments painted over gold leaf and set in a black lacquered frame with a silk brocade border. From an estate in Hollywood CA.
